2016 summer work in Cyprus group of 18 year olds before university

Hello,

The a group of my sons & daughters friends want to undertake 2/3 weeks working abroad before starting university next year. The jobs advertised are bar work, promotions, restaurant, PR etc. Accommodation & flights are included for approx £400.

Is there anyone who has done anything like this & can offer tips & advice? Can offer advice? Is it a genuine offer of work? Is the website, job offers real ?

Would really appreciate any comments or advice once you visited the link.

With this in mind I find it Odd that they have neither ABTA or ATOL

The company is real and seemingly run by three 20 somethings in Newcastle but what you get for your money is not very clear. You get un-named accommodation which you have to share and advice on how to get a job. I am long past this stage of my life but my understanding is that you can get a job by simply turning up at a bar/ restaurant and asking and the number of jobs available will clearly depend on the time in the season they arrive.

I would look at accommodation only websites and see whether you can book named self catering accommodation for a similar amount because that seems to be the only promise they make. The company was formed in 2013 but appears to have been dormant so at best they have operated for two seasons, the company share capital is £3.....

It will be very similar to camp counselling in America in that you pay a fee then they probably help you get a placement.

The only thing I would say is as it's in the eu many young people go out to places (it was on one of the Ayia Napa programmes) and apply for work there. Might be worth a try though as with a lot of them there's no guarantees then you've paid up for nothing, but I don't think the jobs are well paid in these places
