ESA assessment, how long for decision?

I had my ESA assessment today, the lady said I'd get either a phone call or letter letting me know of the outcome. I'm just wondering what the average wait seems to be before finding out? She said to keep on sending in sick notes 'until I'm told I no longer have to' which I found confusing??!

Did they accept the ID you took with then?

No idea how long it takes, I guess you stop sending in sick notes if you are awarded ESA after the assessment rate.

Normally takes about 2 weeks.

If you get a phone call it's normally to ask for more information and probably means you haven't got enough points.

They generally send a letter if you pass. (from past experience)

And you keep sending sick notes till you get a decision, Then if you pass you don't need to send any sick notes in. If you fail then you don't qualify for ESA and need to appeal.

Daisy if you don't get the required amount of points for the severeness of your condition do not give up. Come back on this forum and I will personally help you appeal.

The assessment phase and mandatory reconsideration phase is just based on a DWP choice. Not a single Doctor will make the decision. Its when you get to the tribunal. That is when you see a Doctor.

It took me nearly five months to have an assessment booked (earlier this year).

I had my assessment on 2nd Oct and the arrears went in the bank today - so very quick.

Well I got my decision today and I have been placed in support group. Literally couldn't stop shaking and crying with relief x
