Does anyone have a foolproof method for removing rust stains from cotton fabric? My favourite white shirt has a couple of rust stains (don't ask) and I would desperately like to wear it at the weekend, minus the rust!
I know I could go and buy a Stain Devil removal thingy, but are there any alternatives?
Cheers.

A mix of vinegar with a little lemon juice can often remove light stains.

I know it's not very old style but I keep a supply of Ace Bleach in for things like this, it lasts forever as you only use a tiny bit every time and the last time I bought it there was a BOGOF on too
With a white shirt though you could try lemon juice and hanging it out in the sunlight.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Moggins, would you mind terribly having a look on the Ace bottle and tell me the ingredients please? I used to buy it ages ago but I've a feeling it's exactly the same as Milton sterilising fluid and if so, I have a bottle of that in. Both are a form of bleach anyhow, just different strengths and ingredients.

CQ I've had a look and it doesn't really say - 5 - 15% Ionic Surfactantsm Oxygen based bleaching.
It does say further up that it contains hydrogen peroxide.
