Got a notice on my credit file, Gone Away, stating I had moved and had not notified

United Utilities, put a gone away notice on my file, for a bill I did not pay at my old address. stating I had moved and not gave a forwarding address. When in fact, as soon as I moved the estate agents who run this property, told them I was the new tenant in this apartment. Which can be proven as I moved in December 2014 and paid a bill in January 2015.

I informed equifax and they have contacted UU on my behalf. I just received a letter off UU, stating I did not tell them I was here. I paid a bill one month after I arrived here what more could I do to let them know, I was here?

Should I take further action to have this removed or should I just leave it. I have set up a payment plan to pay the remainder of the old bill and it is on my credit file that I have a credit agreement with them. For this purpose.

Is it a good thing as I have no other credit agreements at the moment, so if I am paying this, will it improve my score? Or is the gone away notice having an adverse effect on my file?

My Equifax score is low at the moment so it is hard to tell if this is the reason why, or because I did not get onto the electoral register before the last electoral register up date, so I assume it will improve on the next one, December 1st.

Any advice is appreciated.
