I think the John West Advent (Fb App) advent has probably been the best one as far as prizes are concerned (and it tells you, right there in the app who's won, so no farting about trying to find winner announcements) ... still got a day or 2 to go too!

It's probably a good idea to just skip a lot of the "tatt" and just enter the advents on the 12th / 24th / 25th when the "Final / Grand Prize" draw's are being held, you'd presume they'd save the best 'til last.

Got a WEM today from Dickies advent (gloves from 18/12) :j , supplied my address and they say prize will be couriered for delivery tomorrow !! That's service for you :T :T

The final countdown! I have enjoyed the Advents but now I just find them a bit of a chore to enter as they are soooooo repetitive and I am sick of being asked the same thing!

I've had nice wins but it is deffo too demanding and I don't think I'll be up for it again.
Meanwhile I really want to wish a Sweet Merry Christmas to everyone on MSE even if you were not on the advents and truly lots of "proper goodies" for next year! ALL THE BEST! :beer::beer:

Although I've put many hours in every day, to date I've won just 5 small prizes. I'm not complaining - I love doing the Advents and know there are more compers now than ever, so our chances of winning get ever-slimmer. Must admit though, I'm getting very tired (literally) getting up so early to get a good start and I'll be relieved when it's all over tomorrow for another year!

Well, I think that's the last Update to the advent thread for this year, since most of what's left closes today or tomorrow I don't really see much point in moving them all to the Game Over area (especially since the Character Limit is limiting my options!).

A couple of things I would suggest for next year would be to ask the people that are posting to try and include the following in their posts :

1) if it's called 12 Days of Xmas, or something like that then include that in the Title
2) if you're posting a reply with a new day's update try to include what Day (ie Day 6) it is
3) if you know it's the final day, post that in your reply

It got really tedious going through posts with a guessed end date trying to work out if it should be removed or extended. If we know it's a 12 days of Xmas, and the last post says "Day 12", then we know it's ready to be game over'd.
Also, if you notice that it's the last day and nobody has mentioned it, post that it's the last day in the thread.

It'd also be helpful from an entering perspective to say what the prize is if you know, it just saves the more picky compers having to click through a link that just says "Todays" only to find the prize is a fish slice that they're not interested in.

Think that's it, Good luck with the WEM emails for all the comps that have yet to name their winners!

(Oh and thanks for all the posters and PM's regarding Game Over comps / Updated end dates etc)
