Sorry if I am being a bit silly here but what is the "code" that people keep asking for? Just read through the T&Cs and all I can see is the unique link which is being posted?The best things in life are free.....0

It's mainly an assurance that the link is not unique to each click. When we see a link of such length it often means the website uses 'hash tables' to uniquely connect a) user with b) activity. A website owner can see where traffic comes from. It could be seen as entering a house via the front door (using the short link), or by appearing in the room (by the longer link). You probably don't want people just randomly appearing in the room?
T&C's can state you must use a certain link, and redirecting is being done by their server. The Metro's T&C's clearly state you must visit the published page.
