Mobile modem for tablet

Options
I have this tablet.

I also have this

The cable from the modem doesn't fit into the tablet, can anyone suggest a suitable cable, or alternative mobile modem?

Your tablet supports WiFi. Your 'modem' is a WiFi-enabled MiFi device. You need to use WiFi from the tablet, not a cable.

    Nifty.

Got that, but what if I'm in an area where there is no wifi, hence, why I purchased the modem :)

The MiFi device provides WiFi for your tablet, the MiFi device uses a 4G network (hence the need to insert a SIM) to access the internet.

    Corrected.

Does the OP have a data SIM? They may need a recommendation if they don't.

Here is a good starter SIM: EE PAYG 4G Mobile Broadband £14.99

Perhaps the OP can tell us how they obtained the MiFi unit.
  • Does the OP have a data SIM? .
Yes, although the device is unlocked, I used a vodaphone sim

I purchased the unit from Amazon, I used the unit abroad on a previous tab 2, it worked OK.

I now have a different tab, which the connection lead from the unit into the tablet doesn't fit.

    right back to basics.

your little 'modem' box is basically a phone which can share its data connection via wifi.

    [tablet] --wifi
    [modem box]

The cable shouldnt be needed.even if it is.imply buy a usb to micro USB cable as your tablet supports this.
I assume your cable in mini usb?

You don't have to/should be no need to plug the cable from the MIFI to the tablet, the cable that came with the MIFI is for charging the unit eg you charge it up before you go out.

You do not need the cable. Repeat...you do not need the cable.

Do you have a live mobile data package or credit on the Vodafone SIM? If not, good., throw it away as it is likely poor value.
You need a mobile data package on the SIM. The one to which I linked is relatively good value, as compared to Vodafone. If you still have a credit on the Vodafone SIM, we can try to utilise that first.
The MiFi takes the mobile signal from the SIM and turns it into a WiFi signal for the Tablet. No need for a cable.

Once you have a live SIM and data package in the MiFi, open the manual and scroll to Chapter 6.
