Tax credits & Self employment

Hello,
I don't suppose anyone can give me any advice can they as I cant seem to get through to tax credits, and if I do I think they'll want all my details.
Right so here goes....
Basically myself and my husband suffer with mental health issues, my husband has paranoid schizophrenia, and myself borderline personality disorder, because of this naturally employers are pretty reluctant to take us on.
My husband is more unsuitable for work that what I am, and I do genuinely want to work and pay my way. So rather than remain on benefits and keep being knocked back from jobs I have decided to set up my own business. I have secured the appropriate funding so it is all good to go. However I have now had a mild panic that to begin with my business whilst I build it up, isn't going to make enough to pay all the bills.
Can anyone advise anything on getting tax credits whilst being self employed... My drawings from the business will be £400 per month.
I have done a entitled to check thingy ma bob, however its good to get direct feedback on things.
As I am on a low income it says I will be eligible for tax credits, as well as a ESA contribution based amount for my husband. Then I will further get an additional amount for being at a disadvantaged place for getting a job.
I really am trying to get out of unemployment, I know its not ideal but if tax credits can help support me in the initial stages of my business, then I will be able to be off benefits all together once its thriving and provide for myself, and further provide jobs for a young person and a full time member of staff eventually.
So if anyone could give me any advice on this I would be massively grateful
Thanks xx
