    The new rules make 0.2% the maximum they COULD charge for accepting a debit card - paying cash into a bank would cost them at least 1-2%.
    Makes no sense to me either - the particular shop I went to said this charge took effect from 1/11 - perhaps just coincidence then that the new charges come in to effect then?

    I feel like that'll be a policy that won't be around for long...if they want to stay in business anyway.
