Pre amp recommendation

Never heard of this, but doesn't sound like something I'd want to apply to my records! Does this apply to UK recordings? Does an amp's phono stage (the thing this gadget replaces) do this as standard?
I see your lack of knowledge in electromagnetic wave properties fails you again, also accompanied by an ignorance of acoustic wave properties this time.
More homework for you:

Your assignment is how to correct a recording of a vinyl LP (using audacity) that has not had equalisation applied to it either electronically or by software..Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0 -
fightsback - Two question marks in my post and you're still telling me off for lack of knowledge. You're a horrible teacher, but thanks for the links!
So to fit more music onto a record the music gets squished, and the magnetic pick up or pre amp that has been in our amps for years has unsquished it. I had always been under the impression that it is literally just a pre-amplifier, just upping the volume from the very quiet needle output, to get it to a 'line level' volume in line with other components. The product I linked to does come with corrective software for recording for vinyl, but that's no use to me for simple playback.
I will have to revisit my vinyl listening equipment and I would suggest agrinnal does too...0 -

Just an old fashioned school teacher and none of this modern touchy feely stuff
