yeah I agree at the father n son time - all soon gone and as he is 14 now we only really have 4 years maximum full time quality time with him without outside interference!!0

Great progress SLM - you'll be into the 40s before you know it!MFW 2017 #123 2018: £1,852.64/£39,200 (4.7%)0

updated signature now that the £111.18 O/P (from my latest quidco transfer) has hit the mortgage - nice to have a round number!!:j
Just fixed my british gas electricity and gas through the cheaper energy club link on MSE after working out based on last years usage that it will cost us around £400 less - so I know its over a year but its still £38 or so in our savings per month extra:money:
A little bit from quidco today (booking my work travel flight and hotels) takes a while to come through but its nice when it does. All my spending at the moment seems to be work related so I must keep ontop of my expenses and get them in ASAP - need to add that to the list of things to do!!
Got my allotment planned out and will hopefully try and get a few days annual leave planned in and get some quality me and allotment time during the week sometime in the next few weeks
Got another work trip to austria next week but only 2 nights so not too bad:(
Then it will be time to work out what O/P to make this month and start Xmas shopping!
Hope all is well with everyone. Right its time to make dinner so cheerio for now

Still waiting to see what O/P to make this month - watching and waiting for the right moment to sell our shares (SAYE) they are not at their peak at the moment
so will hang on for a little bit - they will be used to add to the emergency fund (1,2,3 ac) and will use some for Christmas - although we will try and tighten the belt this year we have a tween and teen so they have expensive tastes!!! Not planning to use it for any flights/holidays for 2016 though so hopefully a good portion can be used to O/P (Watch this space..)
My second year of allotment is nicely planned (crop rotation) and looking forward to a new set of crops. Another reason for not wanting a big August (school holidays) holiday is that the weeds and caterpillars went mad whilst we were away and the purple sprouting broccoli has only just recovered!! Hopefully I will have some to pick over the weekend:j
Hubs was away last night so it nice to have him back tonight !!:j
However I had my flu jab yesterday and felt absolutely grotty today - maybe just a coincidence but called in sick and had a complete duvet day of madmen episodes under my heated single blanket!!!!!
So glad I had prepared a casserole in my S/C so only have to prep veggies for dinner and having a sneaky g&t whilst kids at piano lessons!!
It s a bit wild outside so fire is on - hope all in NW and scotland are coping with the effects of Abigail
Bro and my mum are coming for a weekend of tomb raidering (xbox game!!) tomorrow so that will be fun :rotfl:

Been a bit spendy recently getting extras to put away for Dec christmas day - anyhow I will try to reign it in and get a list of items for christmas.
Just cheered myself up making an O/P of £1,000 - that should properly hit the account and show up later in the week as the balance - not sure if there will be an O/P in december will have to wait and see but it would be nice to get under £50k by the end of the year.
I think thats all that will cheer me up at the moment - work is permanently S**T and I feel permanently tired and cold probably from too many carbs and not enough exercise and too much stress so I need to chill out a bit.
Off to read my book and get the fire on
Beans on toast for dinner!

Well done on the 4-digit OP!
Likewise for me on feeling tired/cold/needing to exercise. At least now I have everything at work available to do it, just need to make myself get on it!0 -
Great OP SLM!
I'm another one suffering from being cold/tired/lethargic - struggling to fit in gym time and also just want to hibernate at this time of year so it's a vicious circle! Made it to my high intensity class last night then was in bed by 9.15!MFW 2017 #123 2018: £1,852.64/£39,200 (4.7%)0 -
OK time to get this mortgage diary re-invigorated!!!
Have made a few O/Ps in last few months so chipping away at it gradually, not as fast as we had planned to though!
We just have a quandary right now as to whether to look at moving house, our kids are young teenagers and it would be good to have some more space/rooms/bigger garden, then we have something to downsize from later when we hit retirement. This would mean a much bigger mortgage (and associated stresses that come with that over our heads) but we are mid forties so a good time to do it (can we really leave it any longer?) and we also want a house with more spare rooms and potential for putting up parents if need be. In our current 4 bedroom property although detached it doesn't have the space we feel we need, plus we all really want a dog and decided we need a utility room before we get a dog (cannot add a utility to our property). All this needs to be balanced against having a small current mortgage in the mid 40k level, which we could easily pay off and be mortgage free in 2/3 years with no hardship assuming we continue working full time.
Had estate agents round and valued current properties and we are mid tidy/paint pre getting photos done to put on market and we have also seen a nice property should we sell that would be perfect so I guess we will go for it and see where it takes us
In the meantime as well as O/Ping we are trying to keep as much savings pot as possible for moving expenses, so will make for an interesting year!!

Taking a break from painting the loft/my office/spare room - its a job I have been putting off but its time and one of the few jobs we wanted to do before putting house on the market.
Spending wise been good this month so far and on track hopefully for a reasonable O/P
£155.34 O/P from a mix of quidco, S123 account interest/cashback, share dividend and premium bonds
Was discussing with hubs how much o/p we should make this month and he is keen to keep a big savings pot for new car or holiday, potentially for moving costs but I guess it doesn't matter as long as it doesn't get frittered away and its generating some interest whilst we decide.
Been to ASDA with DD and got some nice treats for tonight and going to settle down and watch the Eurovision, maybe will necessitate some homemade cocktails if we end up getting bored then we have a few more box sets to catch up on!! Did my price check when I got back and printed off a £5.78 voucher for next time and staples my receipt to it. DD and I had a nice little treaty lunch in costa after shopping which cost £3.55 as I used my loyalty card points
I really should get some stuff on eBay.....due a clear out off stuff!
