Hi Sundays girl - I will look out for the 2016 thread and start properly for 2016!
I track my own finances using excel and have a mortgage spreadsheet but it doesn't work out the figures the same as my bank probably due to the dates and interest per day - its a few £ out but close enough!
I will look up the financial bliss calc and see if that works better

Thanks Luckyin Life - just wish I could get more done in the weekend its just a lot to do!! Anyway hoping I can get myself motivated as the bay items could nicely add to the O/P

Just had a lovely wet muddy couple of hours at the allotment digging up the last of the spuds and pulling up some leeks and last of the squash and a few purple spouting broccoli to go with dinner. I didn't get as much done as I would like but its looking better and got a barrowful of dung on the asparagus bed!!!! I just wish I could get down there more often - its made me put together a list of little items I would like for Xmas so the parents will be pleased as they are always after ideas (waterproof gardening gloves are essential)
Shopped yesterday so got a meal plan for the week and made a £111.83 O/P which hasn't hit the mortgage account yet but it will take us to £52k exactly!!! Hubs went an spent near on a couple of hundred on his car restoration project yesterday:eek: so will be trying to minimise the spend over the month especially coming up to Xmas
So as for the jobs I set myself:
1 - get back into the gym !!! - not yet but will try next week
[STRIKE]2 - allotment tidy/dig over (probably half a days work)[/STRIKE]
3 - eBay dd old mountain bike and playhouse kitchen - still to do
4 - pre xmas cupboard clearcut - still to do
5 -[STRIKE] Update finance spreadsheet [/STRIKE]and work out whats a reasonable O/P this month
Getting there and feeling more motivated!
Still got the dreaded ironing to do and get a chicken roasting for dinner and then the week starts again!!!

Hi Luckyinlife
He is a mini addict with an old estate that he used to rally so he is completely rebuilding it - no idea how much its going to end up costing but it keeps him happy - there is another (proper old mini ) waiting for when this one is done!!! We need a bigger house with a bigger garage and workshop!! Son who is 14 has been helping him so its become a bit of a joint project for them both and it will be nice when they actually get onto engine stuff as its all bodywork and welding and panels at the moment!! It will be nice to see it running as we used it as our wedding car to drive off in after our wedding0 -
Well done on 52k! Pretty close to breaking the 50k mark.
I'm hoping we can try out growing veg next spring. I think it would be rewarding (and ideally fun) but so far we've killed all the herbs we've tried so we might have black thumbs.0 -
haha thanks hidden shadow - my house garden is terrible - I have a little herb garden but everything else I leave to hubs - the allotment is mine - I waited a long time to get it - ideally I would grow veggies in the garden but its not got enough light - or really big enough so I am relieved to have been given an allotment - to be honest it is very very rewarding but doesn't save much money but it is good honest hard work and it tastes amazing eating what you have grown and picked that day. I try and take dd with us as she likes to grow flowers and helps picking fruit - she isn't really into the hard work and sometimes I like to just absorb myself there and switch off as its so lovely and quiet without any distractions - I can really see why its popular
I really haven't done it before and its all an experiment so I think anyone can do it - next year am hoping to grow sweet potatoes and sweetcorn and fennel and shallots amongst other basics, last year we did a lot of spuds and courgette but put in fruit trees and asparagus for the log run which will produce again and again.
Digging is fantastic exercise - and other allotment holders give you great advice on how/what to grow.
Otherwise I am motivated to try and break or get close to being under £50k at the end of the year. Its very motivating to learn from all of you and chip away at it O/Ping with extra earnings when we can and really every little helps.
