Repeated declines for basic accounts

Hello all,
I was wondering if someone can shed some light into why Co-op may refuse a Cashminder application with the response of "there are some discrepancies".
Although there are defaults on my credit file, just under £2.8k, they have been informed of these during the application. Equifax credit file not showing anything wrong other than the defaults.
Any help is highly appreciated. I have now been refused by Lyods, NatWest and Co-op.

If you have been refused by more than one bank I suggest you get copies of your credit reports.
Only you know if you have been a victim or have performed fraud on any previous accounts held.
You would not be rejected for say something like a mismatch in your address - there is more behind this.0 -
First of all apologies as I had to create another account - previously one no longer seemed to be registered with the forum's database / couldn't access that account.
Thank you for your reply. That was my fear - I have renewed my account with Experian to check my credit file again and my credit score recently jumped from "very poor" at Equifax to only 65 points away from "Fair" at Experian.
I am not sure having "very poor" credit score, 99 to be specific, with Equifax was the reason for the declines or not - as I really cant imagine how it could get any lower. And unfortunately it is all due to 3 defaults in the last 10-18 months.
I am not able to find any fraud related alerts on my file with Experian, even contacted them to check it in case I had missed anything.
One thing to note though, I have not updated my current address with Experian - I am not sure if this may add to the problems.
I would really appreciate any advice on this issue. I have genuinely not done anything illegal or what might be considered fraud.
Thanks again!0 -

It definitely won't help, the Bank will be trying to verify your address and where you live now won't match the address that Experian hold, hence a discrepancy.

Thank you for your response. I had originally thought the report they see is not the same one as the consumers see.
I will look into this.
