My messy bank account situation - bad for mortgage application?
Comments
-
I also had a slightly complex setup of accounts when I applied for my mortgage (well not that complex, salary into nationwide current account, almost all of it paid into 123 account, bills, credit card out of 123 account, shared rent handled through nationwide, so housemates were paying me then me paying LL).
I simply printed off statements for everything and wrote some notes to explain what was going on. Sent all that off to the bank and never got any further comments (beyond the mortgage acceptance itself).
In general I think they just want an explanation of anything that looks a bit off. Trying to make sure you're not hiding a loan or childcare commitments etc.0 -
I had similar concerns and it involved a lot more accounts than you mention. They wanted 3 months of statements that was almost like a book in the end , I also had a few phone calls asking me to explain outgoings and all was ok when I explained and they could following the trails with my commentary !
