  • Good Morning everyone a beautiful day here so He Who Knows is on the allotment and I've just gone right through the house and steam mopped the floors so I am marooned here in the study until they are dry. Nothing much planned for the rest of the day other than walking the pup this afternoon and I've made us a bacon, onion and apple shepherds pie with a cheesy parsnip topping instead of the usual potato which I'll serve with steamed carrots and broccoli, paspbeerry jelly with frozen raspberries in it for pud.

SNOOZER how annoying over the phone and then to find you're at the wrong hospital, feel for you lovey!

JUDI I hope it's a better day for you today and that some of this lovely sunshine finds its way into your life and makes you feel better!

Have yourselves a lovely day, Lyn xxx.

    Afternoon all,

just a quick hello from me. Its Thursday and its Grandson day and i think i can hear him rousing from his afternoon nap.

Hugs to nmlc for being married to an inconsiderate fool. Unfortunately i am married to one too. I'm not just being unkind, all who know him agree that he is too except our kids are too polite to say..:rotfl:

Nothing to add today but all is ok.

    Onwards and forwards,

    have a great day.

  • Afternoon all. Late arriver today as I was avoiding the tv, radio and internet this morning until I had watched the Bake Off on catch up! I so didn't want to know the winner before I had chance to watch it!! Eldest DGD and Mr TA watched a DVD whilst I was out with my friends last night so no danger of them letting it slip.

Had a nice evening as usual on our monthly meet up. Lovely carvery and nice wine! Pleasant company and lots of chatting. It took my mind off things a bit.

Still no "after the weekend" phone call from Royal Liverpool and still no sign of my ring. I have now stopped looking and just hope it might turn up when I'm no longer looking. I've tried pockets, handbags, under/behind beds, .washer seal, etc as you've all suggested. We gathered loads of stuff up from the garden to chuck in the garden waste bin on Monday and I'm wondering if it went in there along with the cut back stuff. The bin is full and Mr TA wanted to tip it out on a plastic sheet in the garage and sift through it. I said no, enough's enough!

Got the girls off to school this morning without any dramas for once, with a request for Spag Bol for tea off the two younger ones but eldest has to be different and wanted Lasagne! That's my choice too so made two individual ones and spag bol for the others. Defrosting some dough balls and garlic butter dip to go with it.

Went to Sainsbobs and Aldi this morning and, after a few frugal weeks, I went a bit silly this morning and deviated from my list in both of them. Bu**er it I thought, we are in need of a few treats at the minute!

Seems lots of (((((((((BIG HUGS))))))) are needed on here just now what with difficult OH's and other life and health problems. Take care all xxx

TA if it's any comfort, hun, my engagement ring went walkabout for several months, finally turning up in a place it couldn't possibly have been - in my knicker drawer! The even weirder part about it was that I'd had the draw out during the time the ring was missing, for the purpose of tidying it. Weird, eh? Don't give up hope.;)

Good afternoon chums, lovely and sunny here in Kent and I'm feeling quite chipper at the moment. My brother Davey who lives in France was in hospital last week with a nasty lung infection (he is on chemo for leukaemia at the moment )and consequentially picks up infections far too easily. They let him home last night with strict instructions that he has to rest.
His partner Sandra has promised that she won't let him do anything for at least a fortnight :) I think she will have to tie him down as he hates sitting around and is normally active. But it was lovely to talk to him this morning and know he is feeling a lot better

Caught up with all my mending jobs for DD, and have almost finished her 'blankey' for her.

Tomorrow I am going to do some serious de-cluttering of my kitchen cupboards, far too much china that really doesn't get used.

Loved the end of Doctor Foster last night, excellent series and Suranne Jones never fails to show what a great actress she is.

Right time for a cuppa I think
Have a good evening everyone what ever you are doing

My engagement ring went missing many years ago (when I was still married!) and it was whilst I was working in the kitchen garden. I practically dug it up looking for it, but to no avail.

Later that year I went to do something in the garden which required gloves, and lo and behold the ring was caught in one of the fingers and had obviously come off when I took the gloves off months before. Do any of your friends have a metal detector? Good luck in finding it.
