Living and Working In Australia

Might not be the right forum buthere goes...
Im 38 and totally bored with the job im doing,i have always wanted to go and live and work in Australia,im very tempted to retrain,i know this could take up to 3 years i dont mind, have my wifes backing
Ive been working in the Painting and decorating industry(buying and selling) i dont want to be a a painter.
Is construction best way to go regarding opertunities in Australia ie brick laying plastering etc etc
Any advice more than welcome

To work in Australia you need a visa. There are various different types and the best place to start is www.immi.gov.au which is the aussie governments immigration website. This will give you an idea if you are suitably skilled for any visa.
Skilled visas are based on a points system and you need to score the number of points as specified to successfully gain the visa (plus meeting their basic conditions and health/background checks). With many of the skilled visa's you can, if you want, have a total career change when you get to Oz.
Once you have been through that site try looking at the Australian forum in www.britishexpats.com for further info and post as necessary about visa's and any other aspect of life downunder.
