Isle of Wight - where to stay

We would like to go to the Isle of Wight for a long weekend at the end of August but are not sure where to stay. The iow tourist site lists 13 beaches. Which of these would most suitable for two young children (ages 5 and 3)? As we are only staying 2 nights any type accomodation would do i.e not fussed if its hotel or caravan.

All suggestions gratefully received - also need ideas for things to do for young kids.
