My whole body was thrown into disarray after my husband died. I could feel the adrenaline (steroidal) effect in my body for many weeks. The simplest sign was the red face and loud and fast beating heart, so loud at night that I could not sleep. All my bodily systems went right out of kilter and are still not functioning normally, mineral and vitamin absorption are still not working as they should. My whole body ached for weeks afterwards, not at first but once the malabsorption had started to take effect. Quite often people get very deeply ill a year or so after a loved one dies
I have neglected my vitamin and mineral supplementation lately, used to package them into daily doses and take them every day and that includes D3 (cholicalciferol) I used to be in a testing programme via bloods and know that I must take 5000 units every day.
Most people are short of magnesium and there is no point in me taking more than one tablet a day as it is best absorbed through the skin. I eat nuts, lots of greens, wholegrains etc but it still isn`t enough. I rub it into my skin, when I remember but tonight I felt like a bath, I am still coping with aches esp in my arms, hands and shoulders

This time I put the equivalent of two cups of magnesium flakes (zechstein sea) into my shallow bath, which was a nice warm temperature and I soaked for a good 20 minutes. I got out and immediately felt that tingle that tells me that I was deficient. I believe that my body is craving more building blocks.
Earlier I got my two weeks worth of vitamin/mineral packs ready and am about to order more. I have also made a big effort with the joint herbs as well and will make sure I take them regularly, pain or not. I have just added a boswellia extract which contains a lot of turmeric because this low grade inflammation is so bad for the body. I use iherb in america for a lot of stuff, postage is $4 and I always keep anything below about $19. I also order from lamberts healthcare because I have a practitioner account from a time ago but iherb are far cheaper and they sell good stuff, it takes about 2-3 weeks to arrive0 -

I have also radically overhauled my diet, taking care to avoid foods which increase inflamation and trying to eat foods which can help reduces it.
I found acupuncture helped a lot with the pain. I think some pain clinics provide a limited amount on the NHS.
Also for me going gluten free has made a big difference, I still have the osteo arthritis but the hip, knee and shoulder pains have gone, until I mistakenly eat gluten again that is.0 -
A lot better this morning re shoulder arm and hand pain, hardly anything, just remnants in my right shoulder. I slept two nights so far on a different pillow, abandoned the curved neck pillow. Chose an expensive pillow that I had from years ago and put away, was recommended on mse, it was much more supportive as I am a 100% side sleeper. Also slept with a pillow between my legs.
I must keep up with my anti inflammation regime and the stretches from my old massage chair, concentrating on just below my shoulder blades, where I always feel knots. Hands feel good and redness on joints have gone. Going to empty my shopping trolley and have to get used to using it, rolling rather than carrying. Got to give in to getting older0
