I noticed I was not charged for crossing northbound last week on Thu 1/10 ~3pm when I checked my account online.

Has anyone else had this, is this common ?

    I never get charged
Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.

You should call them up to check to ensure you don't get a penalty

I had a similar situation, they didn't charge online but had two crossing pending

I crossed in May in a hire car, got a penalty about two weeks ago! (Paid!)

No need to call up if you have paid up - they're not going to issue penalties to people who have paid.

The ANPR system obviously doesn't manage to see and recognise 100% of the vehicle numberplates using the crossing, though I'm sure the operators will tweak the system to try and capture almost all of them. (Capture in the sense of capturing the data.)

How can you get a penalty if your reg number is listed in your online account?

Dart charge didn't take money from the account which I found was strange, It was ahire car and only put the reg on before the journey. So to be safe called them up so I don't get a fine.

When I called up the plate had 2 crossing pending, this was 72 hours after the crossing
