Having had to contact Amazon several times and found the people in Manila to be a waste of space, I thought I'd share how to contact Amazon in the UK.

To contact Amazon's UK Call Centre: Ring 0800 496 1081, dial 000000 to skip the cr*p, ask the person where he's located and if it’s Manila hang up and ring again. Repeat until you get the Edinburgh (or Cork) call centre. Fourth go I got a very helpful Scot.

There is no Aberdeen contact centre, so might be waiting a while to get there!

I've never spoken to anyone in the Philippines, it's always been an American call centre.

There are call centres all over the world, India, Philippines, Jamaica, South Africa, Ireland and the UK.

The accent definitely puts them in the USA - more specifically West Coast, California. I recognise it because I used to live there :)
