Job application perhaps that involved a credit search. DBS check?0 -
Thanks, I did try google first and found the company, but still have no idea why they were searching my credit report. I've not agreed to anyone searching it for any job application or a DBS check for about 5 years - hence my confusion. My best guess is my Bank or credit card company searching to increase/reduce or check my overdraft and credit limit - but that to me seems unlikely hence the original question.0

Perhaps it would be worth emailing this company and simply asking the question, otherwise it will just be speculation and guessing.
Searches should only show for 12months but if you feel they should not have searched your file (because you did not give any permission - direct or indirect - for them to do this) then you could raise the matter with the Information Commissioner....it is a bit of a strange one - hope you get it sorted.

Thanks Laura,
I'll email them, I've not ruled out signing something where on page 55 of the terms it gives them the right do a search but have not done anything like this intentionally and can't think of anything I have done that would need to do a search.
I suppose my main question should have been, should I worry about it anyway? For whatever reason they did two soft searches about a week apart in one month.
