Far too many to enter for anyting small unless there are hundreds of prizes. Used to win things I did not really want so am choosy now .

Just a thought for debate, would you enter every comp just because you can, and end up with an unwanted prize, when someone else would have really needed it? :D :money: :D

Wanted it maybe but very unlikely that "someone else would really have needed it" or that they would be chosen as the winner just because you didn't enter.

As long as you are following any T&Cs, enter whatever you like if you have the time and inclination to enter for things that don't interest you or you have no use for.

I've given up entering comps for Horslyx because.
    a) I don't own a horse
    b) I don't know anyone who owns fkin horse!
  • I enter for things I can 'make use of' whether for myself, for someone else or things I can sell (and store/dispatch) easily, in order to buy something else I want.

Why enter a comp for a family holiday if you don't have little ones? if you win your taking a holiday from a family that otherwise may not be able to afford one.

Why enter comps for toys if you don't have kids, a little one may really love that toy you are selling for less than half price on Ebay.

Why enter a comp for a horse rug if you don't have a horse?

There have been a few "accessible holiday" comps, I think that means they are for people a less abled than me so I did not enter them.

I could go on and on, as most above have said just enter for what you or your family and friends could benefit from.

I would enter to win a 10K diamond ring because nobody really needs a diamond ring, but my family would definitely benefit from the money I would get from selling it.

Everyone has their own morals, do what you think is right ;)

  • I'm guessing you're having a go at me there so it is with some amusement that I'm able to put your mind at rest; I never enter any of the types of comps you list above.

Must be great to be so well off that you can afford smug self righteousness.

    Was that reply to me?

I apologise if you think think I was having a go at you but I can assure I certainly wasn't.

It was simply my reply to the OPs question, to be honest I have not even read all of the replies.

I did win some toys once, and sold them on ebay to a young couple with child, they were delighted to get a bargain, and I was equally delighted with some cash in hand.

    Everyone was a winner...

People should enter as much or as little as they personally want. I enter many many comps. Anything I personally want or can be given as a gift to family or that i can sell in order to raise money to buy things etc. Whole point of comping to me.

My youngest is 19 but I've won many toys which have been sold or been donated a charity or hospital. It's all to do with money saving on this forum. If i can win a prize i don't need and can sell that prize online and earn my family some money thats what I'll do. Its a hobby/money earning-saving excercise for me not a vocation.

The only things i don't enter are to do with: Horses, flying holidays, anything that would help someone with a disability or health problem I also never enter any comps on small individual blogs because i think they are too easy to rig as has been shown.I don't enter any rafflecopters because they want you to follow, tweet and generally give up your first born for a what is usually a very low value prize.

  • normally i only enter to win things *I* personally want

sometimes if i have enough time i might fire off a few comps that the other half might like as well... :)
