How to get a new meter card ?
Some tennants left my aunts house last week.
We are now decorating the house but notices the meter was one of those card meter. How can we get a new card for it ? Can we go to a shop and get one or do we have to approach the supplier to pair one to our meter and send it to us in the post.
Also the same situation with the gas.
Thanks in advance.

I called my supplier who gave me the nearest shop that supplies cards, not all shops have the cards.
Then I had to link the card to my meter by putting the card in the meter, topping up with a pound then putting the card in the meter again. Then I could top up normally.

Ring any of the suppliers and they will give you the number to check this as there is a big master registry somewhere (as I discovered when London electricity pinched my account from Seeboard without my permission). You should have done a final reading too -to close off one account and open another.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Call Transco on 0870 608 1524. Even though it's a prepay meter you still need to register with the supplier.0

On the electric, contact your local Electricity Distributor (those you see digging up the streets) and ask for their MPAS centre, they can tell you who supplies you.
You then just go into a shop the supplier advised and ask for a new card.
I'm guessing your Smartpower, so your should be in the Central Networks region.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0
