Low hot water pressure after power cut

Searched high and low for this since the storm in July (that's how long its been).


So we've had no issues with our hot water until then. Shower has been amazing, good flow, no issues etc. Then we got a power cut during the storm and since then the hot water has been rubbish. I can only get it warm or hot if the tap or shower is trickling. If either are turned up then it just runs cold. This is throughout the entire house.


We did try the central heating and that seemed fine.


Sadly our boiler that we inherited when we moved in is difficult to determine in terms of model because the labelling is faded to practically nothing. Its a glowworm compact combi electric from what we know. When we moved in the seller mentioned about water pressure and a screw on what I believe to be a "Caleffi Inclined Pressure Reducing Valve". You turn the screw slightly if there are ever pressure issues but no amount of turning that has made any difference - clockwise or anticlockwise. It did have an effect on the boilers pressure gauge (not the one on the valve though) but the water flow didn't alter at all.


So before we call the experts, does anyone have any ideas please? Any help is much appreciated. I've not been able to find anything clear and conclusive on the net so far.

The power surge as it came back on again may have damaged a temperature sensor within the boiler

Or the turning of the pressure relief valve has drained the water from the system enough to stop it firing up fully

Not sure if you're saying the water pressure is poor or if it's a temperature issue only and the pressure is fine?
