JD Williams catalogue PPI

Hello,
I have tried to make a claim against a catalogue payment protection I have had since 1991. They have rejected it because they were not regulated before 2095. I have read that you claim against the under writers of the police if you claim it is unfair. What exactly constitutes unfair with these types of insurance? Any help would be appreciated as I never needed this policy?
Thanks

That'd be 2005;)they were not regulated before 2095
Why do you believe the policy was unfair?I have read that you claim against the under writers of the police if you claim it is unfair
That's the thing with insurance, most hope they will never need it, but it's there to protect you, if you do.Any help would be appreciated as I never needed this policy?
I don't think there's much you can do especially as they weren't regulated back then.0 -
Yes 2005!!
Well I never have used it and would never had needed to use it as I had savings and sick pay.
Nothing was ever explained why I would need it.
So you don't think I can claim on this though FOC?
Thanks0 -
Send the letter from JD that refused you to the FOS and see what they say.
Is this PPI still running?.0 -
No I rang and complained end of last month and cancelled
It. I am now retired and have been for 10 years but I had no idea
I had paid it.
They said I opted for it but must have ticked something I was unaware of. I have asked them how I opted for it but they won't reply0 -
Send a complaint to FOS and see what they say.
You won't know if it is worth it unless you try.
Good luck.0
