Aside from a relisting fee for the advert, which won't be £200.00, what other loss has the garage suffered? They are certainly not entitled to keep the full £200.00.
Aren't they?. If the car remained unsold, they'd probably dispose of it to another trader or an auction, now that it's sold they'll have to prepare it. This could involve giving it a MOT, giving it a service, renewing legal tyres and brakes that have not got much life left in them, cosmetic repairs and getting it cleaned - all of which won't add much value if it's disposed of within the trade, but is needed if it's getting retailed, this could well cost £200.0 -

if the chassis number matches the v5 and it is actually a scenic then I would have thought you would be able to sort this out quite quickly.
Next you'll be suggesting that explaining the incorrect model on the V5C to any half-way sensble insurer won't actually be a problem.0
