Advice needed: Garden Fencing

Hi -
Currently looking to landscape the back garden of my 2-bed Victorian mid-terrace and wanted some advice regarding updating the garden fences.
Being a mid-terrace we have 3 x boundaries... left, right and rear. What are the legal implications of updating your fences, do we have the right to update all 3 boundaries or do we need to seek neighbours permission on all 3 sides?
How does it work if our fences are of a particular style and different to what our neighbours might have/want? Can 2 fence styles back up to each other along the boundary so each neighbour can have their own look?
And are there restrictions on fence height? We don't want to block ourselves in... we're thinking perhaps 1.5 metres high or thereabouts is enough.
Finally, can anyone recommend a good source for affordable fencing in the style of horizontal slatted / cedar screens as seen here:

Depends who the fence belongs to....and that might be different from what the deeds say, if they say anything!

Can 2 fence styles back up to each other along the boundary so each neighbour can have their own look? Yes, so long as your fence is on your land, there's no need to worry about the original one.
And are there restrictions on fence height? We don't want to block ourselves in... we're thinking perhaps 1.5 metres high or thereabouts is enough. Normally, 1.8 metres is tops.
Finally, can anyone recommend a good source for affordable fencing in the style of horizontal slatted / cedar screens as seen here: Affordable? Dunno. Last a long time? Jacksons.0 -
Yes I've been looking at Jacksons fencing... they do a 'Venetian' fence with horizontal slats but we were hoping for a style that has no upright posts between panels ... so a continuous horizontal line as in the picture.
Any thoughts?0 -
I have a feeling that they're generally made up on site like that. Buy the cedar slates yourself and fix it all together.
There do appear to be some kits though:
