Council pest control problem

I paid £25 to get my wasp nest treated on Friday. I was told by the exterminator that it should take a maximum of 48Hours to work and if not they would come back and re-treat it.

I just phoned them as it's still full of wasps coming and going and they are trying to charge me again...

On their website (I probably cant put links here but if you google "Pest control Neath" and click the council link)

You can see their prices which says "Fee includes repeat visits to deal with same pest.*" (the * is stating that if they return at a later date a new charge is needed).

And on the FAQ page it says:
Do we have to pay for 2nd Treatment?
-All revisits linked to the original nest/call are part of the same initial charge.

I queried this with them and they said they have changed their terms and conditions and are waiting for the website to be updated. Despite the fact there are no terms and conditions made available anywhere.

Any suggestions as to my best course of action? I've taken screen prints of the website should I need them at all.

Website screen prints were a good idea, did the receipt / invoice have the terms and conditions printed on the back?

A small sum of money but it all has to be found somewhere.

The invoice just states I paid £25 for "Wasp Treatment" that's all.

They are also in the process of changing the website as we speak and have removed all mention of extra visits.

I'll just pay £4 in B&Q and get stung doing it myself. Better to get stung by the wasps than the council (AGAIN)

with the change in weather, they should disappear very soon of their own accord

It's in our shower extension. They got in a crack where the flat roof joins the wall so its in the cavity. (but there is only one way in and out)

I've heard theyll be dead in a month because of the cold but it is where our washing line attaches so they skit out if we get too close when pegging the washing out. I've also heard if they last out a season they will make a new nest next year close by and I'd rather not having to worry about nests appearing in the garage or loft.

I've been thinking if I use the aerosol foam stuff they 'have' to go through it to get in and out and the foam is pressurised with a nice spray to coat the immediate area of the cavity.

Wasps don't reuse old nests. I had a nest in my cavity wall a couple of years ago (they entered via a hole for the toilet extractor fan), and no new nests have appeared nearby since then.
I would grin and bear it for the next few weeks and let nature take its course.

In my experience the aerosol foam stuff is useless. Use the powder instead - rentokil wasp nest powder. It's like dispensing talc. You need to point it at the crack/access point and squeeze/puff it whilst shaking it. I've had to do it a couple of times at my house and it kills them pretty quickly.

Just pick your right time, evening when they're mainly in the nest, set of ladders, wear plenty clothing and away you go.
