PPI complaints ..just for banks/credit cards or car dealer loan too?

Hi
My friend complained successfully against a large number of old loans etc for missold PPI and told me that a car loan I had back about 1991 would be included even though it was not with a bank..it was taken out with the main car dealer..or through them at least, no idea who underwriters were. Yet, when mentioned it to a cold calling PPI claim seeker they were not interested. Nor the next.

So can anyone tell me if such a loan is included please?

    It would be if the car loan had been made after 31 January 2005, but not before. Hence the reason why those claim firms are not interested in chasing a 1991 car loan.

    Car dealers became regulated in Jan 2005. So, after that date, they become liable for the financial products they sell. Before that date, they dont.
