Impact on moving house within a 12 month contract

I’m with BT and paying through the nose for line rental and broadband. All the various attractive deals out there appear to be for a minimum of 12 months.
Our house is on the market but as yet no takers; quiet time of the year. However, a move with the next 12 months is definitely on the cards for us.
Any views on what I will be penalised on if I do end up moving house say 6 months into a 12 month contract with the likes of Sky and Talk Talk? Or even BT for that matter if I sign up to one of their deals?
Many thanks

You will either have to pay any early termination charges to cancel the contract, or you can arrange a house move with your provider which will usually result in the start of a new 12/18 month contract.
Be wary if you go with Virgin though, as it's possible that your new house may not have coverage and you will have to pay up to leave them.0 -
You won't be 'penalised', you will simply be expected to buy out the remaining value on the minimum term contract which you agreed: the cost of this per month remaining is given on the respective sites. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Updates: Sky have said "if you move property within 12 months then we can transfer your services over to your new address".
BT have said the same.0 -
But you will start a new contract when you continue the service at the new address.0

And you'll pay a reconnection charge if the existing line has been disconnected. Any supplier will offer you a transfer of service (assuming they serve the new exchange, if different), which is usually free, as a quid pro quo for a new minimum term contract. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
