I have still got all my visa statements & bank statements dating back from the mid 80's I have notice that on my TSB Trustcard/MasterCard that I was paying a payment insurance premium from 1990 to 1998, I'm the sort of person that doesn't usually bother with this sort of thing, I even missed the deadline for my indowment claim, me and paperwork just don't get on I'm just a paperwork phobic.
My question is? can you go back that far with a PPI claim if you have the statements as proof.
Cheers in advance

Yes you can.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0

You can make a claim if you can prove you suffered a claimable event - sickness/redundancy, depending on what the policy covered.
Do you mean complain?0 -

Do you mean complain?
Yes sorry everyone "my bad"
I meant complaint, I should have read a few of the other threads first then I would of noticed that claim and complaint don't mean the same thing in the context of the subject of claiming/complaining miss sold PPI0 -
Claims companies have tried to take over the word claim and its muddied the waters. However, what you are doing is making a complaint and it would be handled under the complaints process.
There is actually nothing wrong with having PPI. The whole thing is down to the sales process of the product rather than the product itself. So, what was wrong with your sales process?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. You can go back as far as your evidence allows, and in your case you've got irrefutable proof of PPI. However you need compelling reasons why it as mis-sold to you. Sometimes being self employed at the point of sale, a student, pre existing health condition might be grounds your complaint would succeed. Download the PPI questionnaire and send it to the bank with copies of the statements.0
