    Just thought I'd update this thread with the very good news that, after months of battering at their door, Currys/PC World have conceded and agreed that they will give full refunds to customers who buy a computer online and switch the machine on. They have also agreed that they will give partial refunds (deductions for unnecessary handling) if a customer switches on a computer and loads software on it etc.

    Please ignore all postings on the subject above - the regulations are very clear about consumers' rights in these situations and now even Currys/PC World agree!
  • And now - finally - at 11.43 this morning Curry's/PC World have quietly changed their Terms and Conditions to reflect the fact that they do now acknowledge that they do have to refund customers who have switched on their computers (fully) and even if they have inputted software on (partially).

    Don't let them tell you otherwise!
  • i bought a lg tv from currys had to swap it 4 times in 3 weeks they also tried giving me a customer return tv, an tried passing it off as brand new unopened i reported them to trading stadards an was told they dont deal with public to contact citizens advice consumer line, i did, they told me currys not signed up to some scheme so they can not do anything how 2 currys get away with breaking consumer act , their facebook page is full of customer complaints that never ever get sorted just excuses every single time, i have made a page on facebook every1 join here ---AGAINST Curry's PC World an terrible customer service. also mailed they director @ his twitter here --- Sebastian James. asking if he can help, he blocked me str8 away so i post his twitter for u all to mail him , they cause us hassle an steal money i borrowed to buy tv cause i am terminally ill an dont go out, an they treat me like this , its CRIMINAL !
