Disagreement with LG and AO about a washing machine

Hello all,

Wondered if anyone had any advise on this.
I bought a washing machine from Appliances Online about 2 months ago.
We have a big family and we have a lot of washing, so I bought a 11kg LG, it was about £650, but I thought itd be important to get a good one.
AO were pretty good tbh, but recently, I've been getting a very loud vibration from the machine when it pumps.
I isolated it to the flap for the filter, and if I trap a tissue in there, it stops.

It's very very loud though, and I can't use the machine at night as it echos round the house!

I calledLG and they said they couldn't do anything as they only look after mechanical issues! The machine is sold as very quiet, and I pointed out to them that it very much isn't, but they wouldn't budge. LG have been really disappointing, their queues are long and the people aren't very friendly!

I called AO, and they very much took the sideof the manufacturer.

Am I being too picky here? What do I do if both parties won't do anything for me? I can't have a washer with a tissue hanging out of it can I?

LG are correct, your contract is with AO, not LG. You need to take it up with them, especially if you're going down the miss selling route.

Have you checked there's not a screw loose in the door or anything like that

There's no screws, its a plastic hinge. It's just loose - a bit crap really. The quality isn't really there tbh. Wish I'd gone for a Miele I guess.

I have the same with my old Bosch, you just need to wiggle the flap a bit to make sure it stays put. I can't see them doing much about this, can't you put some blu-tack behind the flap to stop it vibrating?

As a side note I don't know why people keep calling them Appliances Online, they haven't used that name in over 2 years.

    That's good advice!

On an LG, the only real noise you get is when the pump is running. I would check that all 4 feet are fully on the floor, and that the appliance is on a single piece of flooring, i.e, not on seperate floorboards.

Makes me laugh that the op thought it would have been better spending hundreds more on a Miele. Just how much is it for a pack of Blu-tack :D

This article discusses why it might be better to pay the extra for a Miele (although probably not very MSE if you've just bought a LG).

The Miele was no more money than the LG? Certainly not hundreds. Have a look. Still laughing?
This is why I'm a bit disappointed. I know that Miele uses some good parts and plastics..this....isn't.
I bought it because the drum is literally twice that if the others, and since I'm doing 3 wash loads a day, its been great for that, I suppose I expected more.

I'll bung a load of bluetack in then.
