OP do you have debt, are you struggling to pay, check with your local water company as there is a scheme which can cap your water charges if you have debt and use an approved debt adviser to complete a financial statement.

Other wise we are both going to have to do a lot of over time ( if available )
Or cut back on hours .

For the tax payer to pick up your slack?

    Of course ;)

OP if overtime is available can you not permanently increase your hours beyond 20?

WaterSure is not a benefit, it is a scheme to help those in need. Refer here for more: LINK

Sometimes it's worth speaking directly to the water company in question as they could be flexible with the qualification criteria.

As a lifelong sufferer of eczema, whilst I no longer apply for prescription based treatment, most of the treatments are available over the counter - in most cases cheaper than prescription costs. One of the bath based creams is now available as a shower type gel - when applying to save water switching off the shower/water saves a small fortune. Also, when it's severe, especially winter time the only solution is a bath a small one with flannel application is satisfactory.

We get this, although it is through our water company, we earned too much for any means tested benefits. Have you called your supplier?
  • Thank you for your comments .
I think I will have to write to the water company and see what they say .

At the Moment my company won't give anyone more hours on contract .

But like today I've done an extra 9 hours .

I actually enjoy my job , but I do have many health problems that I just have to deal with. . I'm very happy I've not had a day sick in 3 years :)

I also have to work my shifts around school hours or my husband or older son has to be home to look after them if I work the weekend .

I will just presume I won't get any tax credits and if I do that's a bonus :)

    Thank you x
  • Oh and to the question am I in debt no I'm not :)
