I would go for a strong solution of soda crystals in hot water. See if that removes it.
It's probably residue from the pledge that's making it like an ice rink.Proud to be dealing with my debts :T

Our laminate floor looked all matt and not pretty so I used pledge on it in the problem areas and now our floor is VERY slippy and although it looks good is causing problems.
I think it actually says on polish not to use it on floorsWe have an exisitng thread so I'll add this one to keep ideas together.

Whatever you do...do not mop or use water on a laminate floor!!!
Laminate floor is basically made of HDF...or ultra-thick cardboard, to put it crudely... the water will seep into the joins of the floor, causing the HDF to go soggy and warp. It will also leak in between the wood layer and the photographic layer, causing a bubbling effect.
To clean, I would recommend a dry 'Swiffer' - type cleaning cloth on a stick!Profit=sanity

Instead of using ammonia, I would add white vinegar into a mop bucket and clean the floor with it to remove the silicone from the pledge. Bit less smelly!
Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!
