Barclays Premier Accounts

Hi All

I've tried to reclaim a fees for a barclays premier account I have had for 15+ years. I have paid £5-10 per month for many of these years previously and completed a questionnaire that barclays sent me. They have written back in a matter of days saying they have no evidence of me having a packaged account ?

If that is the case why was I paying a fee ?

Does anyone have any advice ?

    If you have on your bank statements, that a fee was being taken, ask the bank to explain it.
  • Yes they have said they can't find a packaged account

    I'm not sure I still have my old bank statements - but I am sure they can find it.

    Im 100% certain I was paying fees

    Your original post is unclear; are you saying it's an old account you no longer have (i.e.closed) or do you still have and use this account?
    The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....
  • Yeah i definitely paid fees within the last 7 years and I still have the bank account with them although they stopped charging the fee about a year ago

    Barclays used to charge a £10 fee for Premier Banking.

    It was not strictly speaking a packaged account and would have been clear that the upgraded service wasn't free.

  • Yes that's correct I'm trying to find out if the £10 for a premier account is claimable. The current reward account isn't claimable I was aware of what I was doing on this one.

    The Premier fee was for the whole Premier Service including manager.

    Are you seriously saying that you were switched onto the service and thought it was free?

  • I didn't know what the service was for I just paid £10 a month - I thought you had to have a premier account to get a mortgage with the Woolwich.
