Sold to Adblock Plus, which allows advertisers to pay to let their so-called 'acceptable' ads be displayed
I've immediately removed Adblock from Chrome and installed Ublock Origin, keeping Ghostery of course.

What's the panic? You choose to let them through or not, all they have done is enabled a one click method of letting some unobtrusive adds through. You are not forced to have them.
That said, I use Ublock origin anyway....:)Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

You can turn off allowing non-intrusive ads in Adblock Plus if you like.
And many users (I doubt most, admittedly) have no issue with non-intrusive ads. We install Adblock Plus to get rid of over-sized adverts, media-rich adverts that deafen us with sounds unexpectedly or just webpages that plaster themselves with ads. If all ads were small, such as a simple one-to-a-page compact banner, or text-based I wouldn't bother with Adblock Plus.0 -
At least +1 for uBlock Origin in Firefox!0

If you turn off 'some non-intrusive ads' some sites won't load properly I've discovered0

That would be down to the individual sites. You can try allowing the site then blocking individual elements on the page.0

This news is the best advert ever for ublock origin0
