Visit from Customer Compliance Officer from JCP

My mum was claiming JSA contributions based for about 8 months up til she started work at the beginning of May 07. She signed off and has not received any payments from them since then. This weekend she received she received a letter from a Customer Compliance Officer saying that they want to visit on Friday over a query over her benefit and that if she wasn't able to make it she should let them know otherwise it could affect her benefit (which she doesn't get anymore!). She has phoned the number given to say that she won't be able to meet them as she wasn't able to get the time off work and they said they would let the officer know. Is this just a random visit? Or should she be worried? She was completely honest when she made her claim and this has worried her alot.

It probably may have been a random visit whilst she was claiming. I would think that the visits section are behind, or it just got overlooked that your mother is now not claiming.
If she was as you say in your last sentence, then she should not worry. It's only claimants who are naughty, or who have told JCP porkys, that should be worried.0 -
Two weeks ago I received a notification letter I was wondering why I had received this letter saying "they were updating my details and there may have been changes etc....."
I worked myself up into a bit of a tizz after reading so many forums about why they would possibly doing a home visit.
Well my worries were unfounded, a very pleasant person came, they checked my details name address etc. Then I was informed of the reason for the visit, silly me had put the wrong work finishing date on my application form, so it looked as if I was still employed when I put my claim in for JSA
Statement taken then read back to me to see that I agreed with what had been said, signed it and all was completed within 10 minutes.
So next time I'm going to take more time and care in filling out my forms - lesson learned
