Halifax Reward Account no longer requires dd's

Hi,
This seems to be happening a lot to me lately but I'm sure I got something in the post to say this account no longer requires two direct debits to qualify for the £5 per month reward. However I haven't seen anything about this elsewhere so I am starting to wonder if it was a dream. Needless to say I can no longer find the letter...

Mixed Martial Arts is the greatest sport known to mankind and anyone who says it is 'a bar room brawl' has never trained in it and has no idea what they are talking about.

I think you've dreamt it. I haven't received any such letter and two DDs are still required according to the info on the website.0

There was a letter and it stated that you no longer needed 2 direct debits in order to stop your account being downgraded to a standard current account. You still need 2 direct debits paid out to qualify for the £5.0

There aren't any benefits to the Reward account apart from the £5 per month are there? So, if you don't have two direct debits, you will effectively have a standard current account anyway, even though it might still be called a Reward account.0 -

And can I suggest you change the thread title, if you can, to at least have a question mark at the end.
As it is the thread is making a statement that is, probably, untrue and could be quite unhelpful to anyone who doesn't read the whole thread.
Edited to add:
And it's easy to check...
From the Halifax website (http://www.halifax.co.uk/bankaccounts/current-accounts/reward-current-account/) this morning...12 monthly rewards of £5 as long as each month you pay in a minimum of £750, pay out at least 2 different direct debits and stay in credit. Plus up to £60 each subsequent year.
That seems fairly definitive - you dreamt it.0 -
certainly still 2 DDs needed for the £5.. it's been a nice little perk for a long time now
.. have been funding 4 little TESPs for me with the same money in & out each month in about 2 minutes.

It would be useful if the OP could update the thread title to something less misleading0

The main benefit of the change is that your DDs no longer have to pay every month for you to keep the account, so for those whose DDs pay out intermittently are able to benefit from cashback on the months that the DDs do pay out.0 -
Halifax reward account no longer requires 2 X DD will no longer be downgraded to a current account if you only have 1 DD, but to qualify for the £5 reward payment you still need to fund your account with £750 a month and pay 2 DD in the month and remain in credit the previous calendar month....I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Banking & Borrowing, and Reduce Debt & Boost Income boards.
