Modem problems after re-installing Win98

Due to total hard drive failure, had to get a new Hard Drive and reinstall Windows
98 SE from disk.
Fine. When logging in, Windows detects the PCI Communication Device, which must be
the modem.
Went into System in the Control Panel, and in the properties of 'PCI Communication
Device', it has a warning symbol with 'This Device Has a Problem'. Drivers not installed
correctly.
Right enough, Phone Tools does not detect a modem in the computer. Nor does dial
up internet access.
Would locating and re-installing the modem drivers do the trick? Nice of Gateway
not to include them on the "recovery" disk.
Model of Modem is GVC SF - 11561V+ /R9A
Cheers.

Yup, chances are Win98 doesn't come with a driver. I guess that Gateway's site may have drivers or you can try the manufactuer's website at https://www.gentek.com

Used the driver downloaded from the Gateway site. No probs.
Just when I thought I'd be getting connected again, discover that BT haven't hooked up my additional phone sockets! >:(0
