Default dissapeared from credit file after only 2 years?

Hiya

I recently signed up to Experian again to check my credit score due to it being in the mid 500's last year. Unfortunately a few years ago, I had used an overdraft with Barclays Bank and lost my job shortly after so was not able to make payments for the overdraft, and it ended up showing up as defaulted on my credit file when I checked it last year. The defaulted date was July 2013.

I have just checked my file again and the default has dissapeared completely from my file ... I thought generally they disappeared after 6 years? I have been making regular monthly repayments through Moorcroft Debt Recovery for just over a year, and still have an outstanding balance with them. Is there any reason it would not be showing up on my file/disappeared after such a short time?

Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks

Result. I would not go phoning the company who issued it against you to investigate. Although it may be on your Equifax Credit report. Also I do not know how these things work myself so wait for good advice.

Yeah I don't think I will be phoning up the company that's for sure! It just seems a bit odd that it was showing on there in December last year ... and now seems to have vanished! I might have to check my Equifax report to see what it says too.

Would appreciate anyone elses thoughts on this too ...

it might be in the process of been sold
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

Check noddle or Equifax to see if it's on there. If it isn't, you're lucky!

Ive had records disappear from all three when I disputed them at one CRA.

It's odd and I can't fathom the reason why it was removed from all, but Im not going to complain over it.
