Potential JSA Sanctions?
Comments

You not going there despite being given today as a start date shows you being unprofessional. They might very much tell JSA that they had been expecting you but you never showed up.
I was told not to go unless I got the email saying it was all confirmed because I couldn't start until my paperwork was sorted.
They did contact me late this afternoon to say they have finally been able to complete my paperwork and are working towards getting me started with them next week. But again, its not in stone. I'm suppose to wait to hear from them mid to late week.
As for JSA, when I spoke to my work coach on Friday to update him/see what he would recommend/what would happen should I turn down the role, I did make him aware that my start date had gone from being in stone to now being vaguely pencilled in.
I'm currently awaiting the outcome of a couple of interviews over the next couple of days which will hopefully make all this redundant. If not, I will be broaching the subject again with my work coach when I sign on this week.0 -
That's ok then and even better, cross fingers you'll get a successful outcome of the other interviews.0

So an update.
I have now had a conversation with a decision maker about my situation. I requested this after hearing that one of my current permanent prospects would like to arrange a second interview next week - after when I am supposedly meant to start the temporary position. In addition, it looks like a second prospect start date is going to go without me starting without any real justification.
I have been told that, based on my personal circumstances, that I could reject the temporary position at this stage without risk of sanctions.
It has given me food for thought because I've spoken again the company and that conversation really did not fill me with confidence.
They are back to the "we are awaiting some paperwork" line without providing any clue to what paperwork or when realistically they will have completed it.
I have tried to find out what paperwork so I could help out e.g. if its a reference I could get in touch with my contacts and try and push it along.
I'm not sure how I will feel about the temporary offer if Monday comes and goes without me starting.
My current plan is to continue as though I am not starting on Monday. So continue my job search and interviewing processes.
If, by some miracle, I hear I will be starting on Monday then I will start with them, re-evaluating my job search after training. I'll try focus on the positives of the opportunity and not to let the disorganised chaos that led to it diminish from it too much.0
