RBS Advanta

I found an old statement for a credit card with PPI. I remember taking out the card in 1997 to pay for my honeymoon. The one statement has PPI on it. I was self employed. RBS are saying I have to find all my statements as they dont have any records before 2001. Where do I stand?

In front of your filing cabinet, looking for old statements.

If you don't believe them, then you could invest £10 in a SAR, but it's very likely they don't have any records, which means it's up to you to provide the evidence.

When did you close this account? If later than 2001 then RBS maybe able to locate the credit card statements. If you make a complaint and they decide to uphold they have to base the redress (according to FOS guidelines) on what evidence they do have. I would send a SAR or call credit card services SAR dept.
