VW/Audi dealer - Better up your game!

After the recent news I was a little surprised at the behaviour of Cardiff AUDI last weekend.

Wife had booked a test drive for 2pm with the view to buying an A1.
I had a feeling when we booked this a few weeks ago that they weren't particularly interested. Maybe because the A1 is their least expensive car.

But anyway, test drive was booked. They told us please let us know if you can't make this slot because we book test drives in slots like this.

So she turns up at 2pm. Reception ask her to wait. So she waits 30 mins. Then someone comes over and says be over in 10 mins. At 3-15pm she walks out.

No-one from Cardiff Audi has contacted her since. VERY VERY Poor.

Even without the current scandal we won't be buying an Audi now..... You would have thought they'd be pulling all stops out at the moment but obviously not.

Pop it on Twitter #audio #cardiffaudi Pretty shocking, mind you I would have gone over and spoken to them after more than 5 mins.

Poor customer service is something that really gets on my nerves. It really isn't difficult.

Yes 10 mins max and I'd have been over.

Funny you should say that. Wife did twitter. Audi UK replied and said they'd pass comments on but still nothing at all from Cardiff Audi !

Yes - they gave her decaff coffee but it turned out to be extremely high in caffeine.

Sounds like they're fitting defeat devices to the coffee makers as well...

I'd expect they're deep in 'damage limitation' mode at the moment rather than trying to recruit new customers. As of last weekend it was fairly unlikely the dealership staff knew the impact of the issue and were probably waiting for the sunday papers to see if they still had jobs or not

It was also last weekend of the quarter so in terms of sales targets unless you were likely to sign there and then for a car already in stock and able to take delivery before 30th Sept I'd have expected them to ask you to come back next week

With my experience of recalls (different industry) it's a case of all spare staff into the back office to check and double check the customer data held before starting to contact them

Whilst the communication was poor I'd be inclined to cut them a bit of slack

I thought about buying a VW a few years ago. Went to a dealer to have a look, they weren't really interested, didn't offer a test drive, when I asked he was very vague about when they could fit me in, said delivery would be several months if I decided to order one.

I went to another dealer but they didn't have anything suitable, I was looking for large, spacious, people carrier or SUV, they suggested I tried a Golf.

Last attempt at another dealer, they said they had the sort of thing I was looking for but after walking around the site for half an hour he said he couldn't find any. We arranged a test drive for a few days hence, he stressed that we should wait for a call from him & definitely not come if he doesn't confirm. He didn't confirm.

    We bought a Honda.

What a good decision EssexExile, I bought a Honda in 2004, 18 months old. 145,000 miles later, she's still a wonderful vehicle.

    Are you having a laugh?

If they want to sell me a car then the minimum requirement is they keep to any appointments they have made with me.

The fact that the timing is not right because they want to make they're figures look good, or they're a bit busy doing something else, or they're a little bit sad about recent news is something that I don't a monkeys bum about it!

If they treat everyone like this then they definitely won't have a job....
