You're using webOS, for which HP dropped support a long time ago. GMail, and lots of other Google services, have stopped working on webOS. There are workarounds, but unless you love webOS (like I do) I would recommend installing Android on your tablet. I've got 4.4 Jellybean working on it great. XDA Developers is a great place and there is a fairly straightforward walkthrough video to do it. Scary at first but worth it.

I cant seem to get into my Touchpad. It comes up with blue screen with language options and I choose English, then blue screen and I choose United Kingdom then confirm English, then brings up choice of Wifi and I choose mine and add password , then accepts and brings up HP terms and conditions but before I can accept a white box with server error comes up and says refer to HPWEBOS.COM/SUPPORT which of course does not exist. How can I get in?

Sounds like you've wiped your Touchpad if you're getting those options. And it also sounds like, since the servers have been switched off, you're having trouble getting into webOS. Is this what you've done? Wiping it was a bit drastic, but don't be throwing it away. Let me know what you've done, and whether you want to get webOS back or switch to Android. Getting webOS back might be tricky at this point.

I looked on XDA and found the thread to load Android but my old pc wont let me download Novacom ( or actually lets me download it but wont it wont open ). It appears I need to attach the TP with USB i becomes a storage device to transfer the new software across. Stuck!!

So you're stuck at installing novacom? I had that too recently. The reason, if you've the same as me, is that the file you've donwloaded, goes to download the real thing off the net. Except it's not there anymore as the servers were shut down a while ago! There were a few other places to download it but it was a real pain. It's more complicated than just using it as a storage device though. Novacom allows you to do lots of stuff as a developer. If you could PM me your email address I'll try to send you a version of Novacom that works, I'm usually on a Mac but should have one for Windows too. You'll have a useful tablet at the end of this!
