Vanquis Bank PPI

Has anybody else had a claim for PPI refused on the basis that Vanquis claim they do not offer PPI but Repayment Option Plan which apparently isn't an insurance product ? It seems to me that they have just given it a new name. They claim that they spoke to me on the phone back in 2012 and I agreed to this product which I cannot recall.They have also charged it on my wife's separate account and she has no knowledge of any agreement with them. They have now removed this repayment option from my account - however it was very expensive probably amounting to over £600 pa in fees . It would be interestesting to know if anybody else has had experience with Vanquis and is PPI claims only limited to insurance based products - and who is to say this isn't insurance based? They claim that full details of this product arrived with my welcome pack with the card - which I also don't have. Anybody with suggestions or do I just go to the Financial Ombudsman?

It's not PPI, as it freezes interest and payments, rather than making them for you.
No sign of the FOS taking a different view any time soon.0
