Two Way Light Switch Wiring help
Comments
-
Hi, there used to be two separate lights, one in the dining room and one in the living room, and it was changed about 4 months ago by an electrician to be on one plate as we had our kitchen door blocked up and the switch needed to be removed0

Looking at it again...is there a third grey cable on the right hidden behind the two visible in the photo? There are three red and three black wires on the right hand side which leads me to believe there must be. What I thought was red sleeving over a bare wire is probably just my eyes playing tricks on me...the red wire probably runs behind it and the bare wire is the green sleeved earth.
Really, you need to each wire - particularly the reds - to be tested to find out which ones are permanently live. At least one of them will be coming from the lighting circuit, the others may be spurs off to other switches.0 -

I suggest it might be worth getting back in touch with the electrician who did this work for you!
And taking photos of any switches in future before disconnecting them.
