Thrift Energy Atlantic Challenge
Just posting this for a friend (Andy one of the rowers).
He's due to take part in the Talisker Whiskey Challenge 2015 that will see him row across the Atlantic as half of a two man crew raising money for Alzheimers and St Clare's Hospice.
I'm not asking you to donate (although that would be fantastic), but sharing their Facebook/Twitter/Web page would help them immensly...

Just a quick bump with a link to their Justgiving page and some other links to follow their progress:

In the past couple of weeks they've been hit by an infection that almost cancelled their row, lost their main water container, their inverter (so no laptop to communicate), they've been turned around by a storm and had a major bout of sea sickness.
But they're still going, only raised £400 on the just giving site so far so if anyone has any tips to boost it or knows some generous benefactors let me know0 -
Would local businesses either put up posters or have collection boxes?0
-
Another thought - could you put the links in the signature section of your posts? Can anybody involved in raising the money put it in a Facebook signature? (I don't know anything about FB, so don't know if it is possible)
Also, how about asking a local supermarket if you can have an 'awareness' type of stall, where people can find out about your fundraising and who benefits?
If you have any leaflets or flyers, maybe a local Guiding or Scouting group would be interested in a visit from someone who is involved, and they could take the leaflets home to their parents? You could also target other groups U3A, Lions, Soroptomists, Rotary Club - anyone who would welcome a speaker.0 -
Just a quick post to say they made it earlier today:

Well done to the pair of them - I hope they managed to raise a decent amount.0
