Life insurance on a shared ownership house..

Hi we have our financial advisor coming round next tuesday to sort out quotes for life insurance as we are buying a house..just wondering what the average is or does it depend on your personal situation? really unsure what to look for and wether what he comes up with is good! Partner smokes as that will bump it up but other than that are there any good sites to sort of check out first?

im in the same situation as you, the morgage advisor has sorted out a quote but im not happy with it as i can get quotes for like £5 instead of £11 i was wondering if i could cancel his one and sort out one on my own to tie in with the mortgage, or wether it has to go through him cos its all shared ownership. (im still grinning with glee i got accepted for a mortgage my credit obviously isnt as bad as i thought!)
