Hi Anne,
I'm not the best person to advise on routine because at the moment with the children off school I just don't have one.
You might be able to pick up some tips from these threads though:
HOUSEWORK ROUTINE
What's your daily routine ...
cleaning routine?

The most effective start to housekeeping is to declutter. It is vital to be ruthless. Everything you use must have a home, this means you know where to put it. Empty surfaces are easily cleaned.
If you are not sure whether to chuck something, put it in a black bin bag. Put the bags somewhere out of the way. If you don't need it in the next couple of months it can go.
If your surfaces are clear, your floors uncluttered, not an endless collections of bottles in the bathroom, kitchen stuff put in cupboards, then cleaning will take a fraction of the time.
In the kitchen keep your cloths in a small bowl with a drop of washing up liquid and a squirt of bleach. Wipe your surfaces with these cloths and dry with a tea towel. Put things away as you go along.
In the bathroom spray your surfaces with vinegar and water. Leave for a few minutes and wipe down with toilet paper. Do this every day, it does not allow dust to accumulate and takes seconds.
Housework does take time and is a matter of keeping on top of it. However, it works and it does mean your house always looks reasonably under control.0 -
Hi Anne, when you say you've tried Flylady do you mean the ( for me at any rate) over complicated American website?
The levels on the Flylady thread on here are pitched at being achievable by anybody depending on how much time you've got/want to spend. We do stick to a room a day with extra suggestions thrown in for decluttering etc. which would satisfy the Monday kitchens, wednesday beds etc thing you're after. One debt v 100 days Part 14 £400/£400
One debt v 100 days Part 13 £329.66/£380
